Have you ever wanted to intimidate your enemy chatters with ridiculous words that may or may not be true? Ever wanted to talk about their mothers while playing a friendly game of Halo, or while sitting in a chat room with nothing better to do in life? If so, this post could be for you.
First, you losers, who try so hard... (cck2ca. edbeldrunk, flyereddie48, etc)... you must identify the situation. If you are only joking around with your fellow chatters in NHL:1, then meaningless jests about each other's mothers or of fantasy rosters is usually the most effective way to go... that is if your name is zr22k or kingovspades.
Continue to talk about your unending skill in whatever activity you are currently enga0ged in. Even if these statements are not true, use them! False 'Sonning' is equally effective as true 'Sonning' (although sometimes you will have to back it up)... that is if your name is wildbp or talker_a_talker.
Repeat the above as necessary. If you feel that your 'Sonning' is ineffective, it's probably a good idea to stop, right cck2ca? Many chatters have built an immunity to trash talking and therefore it doesn't affect them at all, right hotshotschamp? If you run across this kind of person, your best call is to just shut your mouth and own them at whatever you are doing, like fantasy sporting events. If this happens, it is much easier to trash talk that person next time you challenge them at this particular event, that is if you're allowed to participate again.
In the event that you're getting your arse sonned, remove yourself from the situation as soon as possible, right chat 'scrap such as edbel, cck2ca, and too many others to list? If many people see / read your 'sons' and then see you get 'sonned', no one will respect you. Also, your opponent could make you look like a bigger faggit than you already are. If you feel you are losing... abort!!!. Continuing will only make your downfall even worse.
Try some of these tips to bolster your skills, cck2ca -
- Be extremely loud by typing in all capitals. This triggers a pain receptor in the brain and therefor you could actually force your opponent to feel pain just by "yelling' at them, right bradshaw?
- Talking about things your opponent can't control is a great strategy, like "look at how much fun we're having in our fantasy leagues without the likes of you"...
- Using big words, that have a good meaning behind them, also work. Your opponent will not know what the words mean, therefore they become speech less.. right wildbp, mounta_oo or paulie B.?

Hey all, I'm going to be starting a keeper league this season and I'm looking ONLY for managers who are absolutely DEDICATED to maintaining their rosters and remaining competitive.
To apply send me a link to your fantasy profile as credentials are necessary for admission. Top place finishes aren't required but if I see you're all bottom of the pack finishes, you won't be approved. I'll need your email address as well to confirm your acceptance. I am looking for managers are who are competent, reasonable -or in other words not a whiny little b*tch who is going to complain about any trade made or offered that doesn't improve their own team - that LIVE hockey as I do and have a vast knowledge of the game. If this sounds like you than please send the info and we can get started!
My formats as of right now - though I am very open to suggestions for improvement or otherwise - is a 16 team keeper, with 23 man rosters - a la the nhl standard - consisting of (3) players at each forward position, (5) defenseman, (1) util, (2) goalies and (6) bench spots.
There will be (2) IR spots as well as a mini farm system of (5) prospects. The farm system will essentially be an "honor system" function where in by at the conclusion of the standard draft you may select any 5 players who have less than 100 games of NHL experience (72 games for goaltenders) and were not selected in the standard draft to reserve them on your farm system until you deem they are fit to be promoted to your 23 man roster, at which point they cannot be returned to your system. Additionally, if said prospect reaches the 100 (72) games of NHL experience plateau without being added to your roster he becomes subject to waivers and may be claimed by any manager, with current reverse standings being the marker for first dibs - same as NHL waiver rules -
The scoring system will be H2H. I am very open to suggestions for which specific statistics should be used but the baseline essentials are:
offensive stats of G, A, PPP, +/-, SHT, P
goalie stats of W, GAA, SV%, SO, SV
That's all I can think of at the moment in terms of what you need to know. If you're interested in what you see then you know what to do. I should also mention that if I suspect any sort of collusion all mangers involved will be removed, I mention this to dissuade groups of friends from becoming involved to screw everyone around. So if that's your idea, than don't bother. I am very committed to being a good commissioner and providing a pleasant fantasy hockey experience so I'm not just talking out my a$$, I really want to see this work. Thanks everyone!
